On Sunday and Monday, May, 6-7,2024, 28-29 Ramadan 1445H, OMD-Y had implemented “Ramadan Food Basket 2” project by distributing 200 baskets to 200 beneficiary families. (50 baskets for each of the following; the Yemeni Association for Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind (YACRB), Al-Shafaqah Foundation for Kidney Failure and Cancer Care, An-Noor center for the Blind and Al-Aman Organization for the Blind Women Care (AOBWC).
Each food basket contains the essential food ingredients such as wheat, flour, cooking oil, dates, legumes (beans), sauce, rice, sugar, milk and tea. This is under the generous funding of Pure Hands Org. and in coordination with the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA).
It is worth mentioning that this project is for the vulnerable groups of the blind who suffer from chronic diseases (i.e., kidney failure), which is one of Ramadan projects that the Foundation is keen to implement annually and one of the projects of the food security and livelihoods sector in which the institution is interested in. This is to meet the needs of some families living in poverty and the lack of the most basic living requirements under the country’s conditions.
