Funded by Pure Hands, implemented by Ola Al-Majd for Development-OMD-Y and supervised by the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA) and as a part of the cows’ distribution activity of the ‘Economic Empowerment Project’, the cows distribution activity has been concluded at As-Saddah District and its neighboring villages, Ibb Governorate
25 cows were distributed to 25 of the poorest families. During the distribution, female beneficiaries were made aware of how to raise, feed and ways to medically treat cows. Mr. Mujahid Ali Amer, Director, As-Saddah District, Ibb Governorate, praised the implementation of such projects that help to reduce the import bill for livestock and turn poor families into producers and self-sufficient.
Dr. Mona Al-Awdi, the Executive Director of the Foundation, explained that for the first time, such sustainable projects in the field of food security and livelihood improvement were held in the As-Saddah District, where such projects were difficult to implement in such remote villages.
The project aims to enhance rural stability and increase the productive capacity of the resilient economy in the field of development of livestock and its products in order to achieve self-sufficiency and enhance food security from meat and dairies.
In turn, Mrs. Safaa Mohsen, Projects Officer at Pure Hands, stated that the project comes under the framework of a number of activities supported by Pure Hands in the field of livestock
