3,738 individuals benefited from this year’s 1445 H-2024 sacrifices project implemented by Ola Al-Majd for Development (OMD-Y) on Monday 11th Dhel-Hijjah 1445 H corresponding to June 17th, 2024 at Musa’b Ibn Omair School in Sana’a Municipality. This project was implemented with the generous support of Pure Hand Org. – in coordination with the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA) – as a contribution to providing the sacrifice to the neediest and most vulnerable families during the days of Eid Al-Adha.
The project implementation goes through several phases, beginning with the “Supply Phase” where 14 calves were purchased after they have been examined to ensure that the sacrifice’s conditions were met, and then slaughtered according to the provisions of the Islamic sharia. It followed by the “Cutting Phase” where the weight of each portion, to be distributed to beneficiaries, was confirmed (i.e., 3kgs per bag). The project was concluded with the “Distribution Phase” by field visit to Musa’b Ibn Omair School for the sake of distributing the sacrifices for beneficiaries.
This project comes within the framework of Food Security & Livelihoods Sector projects – in which the Foundation is concerned – with the aim of contributing to mitigation the suffering of the most vulnerable and needy families in the country’s difficult economic conditions.
