The Volunteering Department, represented by Mr. Nouf Taj El-Din, Director of the Department, presented a women’s event on the occasion of International Volunteer Day IVD, 20-December, under the slogan “Volunteer for my country.”

The Director expressed the importance and role of volunteering in the country and society’s development and the effectiveness of women’s participation in that.

In addition, many volunteers participated in the event, sponsored by Ola Al-Majd Foundation for Development.

The event confirmed that the nation is in dire need of volunteer work in various aspects at this time, the most important of which is helping the needy and the poor. The event declares that volunteers are the fundamental pillars for building the future.

In her speech, Dr. Mona Al-Awdi, Executive Director, praised all volunteer youth initiatives and others for their work and voluntary activities in different aspects nationwide. The Executive Director considered holding this event as evidence of the youth’s determination to move forward in participating in voluntary work and activities.

The Doctor also Indicated that the volunteers contribute to various development and humanitarian fields and all work with one spirit and vision.

While the speech of the volunteer youth delivered by one of the young female volunteers expressed the happiness of the male and female volunteers as they celebrate today with several charitable voluntary works and activities to serve the community. Furthermore, the volunteer youth confirm their continuity and active involvement in volunteer work during the coming period.

The event presented the most prominent women’s industries and handicrafts to encourage women and show their active role in society, thanking Al-Ola Center for Training and the microfinance projects department for their endeavor to empower poor families in general and women in particular in many different skill and educational aspects.

The event included artistic activities and comic scenes presented by some young volunteers. These activities expressed the youth’s awareness and understanding of the volunteering importance in building and developing countries and the continuation of volunteer work.
